Bray Hoag pitched a complete game on Monday night to lead the RedHawks baseball team to a 5-1 victory over Wawasee in Syracuse. Goshen pushes their season record to 9-9 (6-6 NLC) on the 2025 campaign. Hoag ended the night with 7 innings pitched, allowing only 1 run, 4 hits, 0 walks and 12 strikeouts. Hoag had a no hitter into the 4th inning and a shut out into the 7th inning. He was able to keep all the Warrior batters off balance throughout the evening. Quinn Shreiner Landes led the game off with a hit by pitch and moved to 3rd on a Jaxon Miller single. Braxton Cline was able to score Shreiner Landes on a ground out to give the RedHawks a 1-0 lead. That lead held into the 6th inning while both teams struggled to get anything going on offense. Kyan Miller led the 6th inning off with a triple down the right field line. He scored on a Jensen Meikle bunt to extend the lead to 2-0 heading into the bottom of the 6th where Hoag made quick work of the Warriors. The RedHawk bats came to life in the 7th inning. Bryson Wilson led off with a single. Shreiner Landes grounded into a fielders choice and then moved to 2nd on a Jaxon Miller single. Shreiner Landes and Miller scored on a Braxton Cline double that went into the left center field gap. This gave the RedHawks a 4-0 lead and then Cline was able to score on a ground out by Kyan Miller to push the lead to 5-0. Hoag was able to shut the door in the top of the 7th despite Wawasee pushing 1 run across after a lead off double. Goshen finished the game with 8 hits and were led by Jaxon Miller, Kyan Miller, and Braxton Cline who collected all of the hits for Goshen. The RedHawks finish NLC play on Wednesday night when they travel to Nappanee to take on the Northwood Panters. The two teams will complete the first game of the match up at 5:30 followed by the 2nd game. The first game that needs completion was a 9-4 lead for the Panthers in the final frame. The RedHawks have runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. Whenever that game completes, the two teams will round out NLC play.
