Costly 6th Inning Serves Varsity Baseball Loss

The Goshen RedHawks held a 1-0 lead for the majority of the game on Wednesday night at Plymouth, but ended up losing by a score of 8-1. Bryson Wilson pitched 5 innings of 1 run baseball, but suffered a difficult loss on the mound. He ended the night with 5.1 innings pitched, allowing 2 runs, on 4 hits and 2 strikeouts. Quinn Shreiner Landes came in to a difficult spot on the mound and couldn't get the RedHawks out of trouble. Goshen opened the game with a run in the 2nd inning when Jensen Meikle doubled to left field and then advanced on a Karter Marcum single. Bray Hoag grounded into a double play, but Meikle was able to score on the play to give the RedHawks the lead. Jaxon Miller led the offense with multiple hits on the night as well as Meikle, Marcum, and Kyan Miller chipping in hits of their own. Goshen returns to action on Friday night for senior night when they host Concord. The game is at 5:30pm with Senior Night festivities beginning before the game.
