The Goshen Varsity Baseball team dropped to 5-7 (3-4 NLC) on Wednesday night at the hands of the Northridge Raiders by a score of 3-2. Kyan Miller took a tough loss on the mound throwing a complete game while allowing only 3 hits and 1 earned run and striking out 5 batters. Goshen jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the 3rd inning when Kyan Miller hit an infield single to scored Jaxon Miller and Bryson Wilson singled to drive in Braxton Cline. Unfortunately, the 2-0 lead disappeared in the bottom of the inning when Northridge was able to push 2 runs of their own across to tie the game. Northridge scored the go ahead run in the 4th inning to take a 3-2 lead. They held on to the lead for the remainder of the game despite a late 7th inning threat from the RedHawks. In the 7th, Jaxon Miller led the inning off by reaching on an error and advanced to 2nd on the error. Braxton Cline was able to move Miller, the tying run, to 3rd with a ground out to 2nd. That set up the RedHawks with the tying run on 3rd with 1 out, but the Raiders were able to strike the next 2 Goshen batters out to seal the win. Goshen was led offensively by Quinn Shreiner Landes who reached base twice, 1 hit and 1 walk as well as Braxton Cline who reached on a walk and a single. Goshen was able to out hit Northridge on the evening 5 to 3. The RedHawks are back in action on Friday when they host Warsaw at 5:30pm.
