The Goshen Varsity baseball team improved to 4-6 (2-3 NLC) on Wednesday night with a 10-0 victory over the Concord Minutemen. The RedHawks were led by a wonderful pitching performance from Ryen Diaz. Diaz pitched a complete game shutout, throwing only 59 pitches. He allowed only 3 hits, walked 2 batters and struck out 3. Diaz received plenty of help early on from his offense who erupted for 9 runs in the first two innings. Jaxon Miller drove in Kyan Miller on a double in the first inning to start the scoring. In the 2nd inning Kyan Miller drove in Karter Marcum and Spencer Elliott when he hit a double. Jaxon Miller then followed it up with a 2 run single to score Jensen Meikle and Kyan Miller. Colton Rapp then drove in Jaxon Miller and Braxton Cline on a single. By the end of 2 innings it was 9-0 RedHawks. The offense cooled off in the 3rd and 4th, but they were able to push across the 10th run in the 5th inning when Quinn Shreiner Landes scored Braxton Cline on a single after Cline reached on a double. By the end of the evening Jaxon Miller had 3 RBI, 2 hits and 1 run scored on the evening to lead the offense. Kyan Miller and Colton Rapp each chipped in 2 RBIs of their own while Jensen Meikle also provided 2 hits as well. The RedHawks continue NLC play on Friday when they host Wawasee at 5:30pm.
