The Goshen RedHawks varsity baseball team picked up their first win of the 2025 season on Wednesday night with a 10-3 victory over the Jimtown Jimmies. Kyan Miller recorded the win on the mound for the first of his senior campaign. Miller pitched 4 innings allowing just 2 hits, 1 earned run and recorded 5 strikeouts. Bray Hoag came in for relief pitching 2 innings, allowing 2 earned runs with 2 strikeouts. Miller and Hoag combined for just 3 hits given up on the evening. The RedHawk offense started in the 3rd inning with Jaxon Miller recording a 2 out double and later scored on a throwing error from the Jimtown pitcher, giving the RedHawks a 1-0 lead after 3. Goshen was able to frustrate the Jimmies on the bases in the 4th inning when they scored 3 more runs on a combination of walks and base running to bring the score to 4-0 after 4. In the 5th inning Kaden Witty plated 2 runs when he singled to extend the RedHawks lead to 6-1. Goshen put up 4 more in the 6th to bring the lead to 10-3, where it would remain until the game was over. Witty picked up 2 RBIs on the night and Colton Rapp chipped in another RBI to lead the offense. The RedHawks stole 6 bases and earned 8 walks on the night along with 2 HBP. The RedHawks continue a road stint when they travel to New Prairie on Thursday night for a matchup against the defending 3A State Champions. That game is set to being at 5:30pm EST.
