Goshen High School Athletics

The Goshen varsity boys soccer team participated in the Penn Boys Soccer Tournament on Saturday. In the first game against Valparaiso, Goshen recorded a 4-2 victory. Yurem Hernandez led the way with 2 goals while Will Richardson and Chino Torres each scored 1. Landon Clayton, Aaron Mounsithiraj, and Will Richardson each tallied an assist. In the second game of the day, Goshen lost to Chesterton by a score of 2-1. The Redhawk goal was scored by Hayden Clark. Goshen's record now stands at 6-3-0. The RedHawks are back in action on Monday evening as they travel to take on Mishawaka at 6:30pm. The Goshen boys JV soccer team recorded two victories on their way to becoming champions of the Penn Boys Soccer JV Tournament. In the first game, Goshen beat Valparaiso 1-0. The Redhawk goal was scored by Sam Espindola Moreno and assisted by Juan Juarez Salgado. In their second game of the day, Goshen recorded a 3-0 victory over Chesterton. Goals were scored by Ignacio Lopez Jr (2) and Mario Fernandez. Juan Juarez Salgado and Sam Espindola Moreno contributed an assist each. The JV record now stands at 7-1-1. The JV RedHawks play again on Tuesday at home against Bethany.
