Varsity Baseball Loses in Walkoff to Westview

The Goshen RedHawks (7-11, 3-6 NLC) lost in walkoff fashion for the second time in as many days. This game came at the hands of the Westview Warriors by a score of 4-3. Goshen took the lead in the top of the second inning when Payton Bontrager drove in Jack Krider who was running for Kaden Witty after being hit by a pitch to knock him out of the game. Westview came back and tied it in the bottom of the 2nd and took the lead in the 3rd. Goshen came roaring back to take the lead in the 4th when Colton Rapp drove in Quinn Shreiner Landes to tie it. They took the lead when Jack Krider stole home and Colton Rapp swiped second on the play. In the bottom of the 4th the Warriors tied the game again, this time at 3. The score held tied at 3 until the bottom of the 7th when Westview loaded the bases with one out. They hit a sacrifice fly to Shreiner Landes who fired a throw to the play but the RedHawks were unable to safely secure the tag and the game ended on the play. Braxton Cline took a tough loss on the mound surrendering the 1 unearned run in 1.1 innings pitched. Goshen is back in action on Monday when they travel to Mishawaka to take on the Cavemen. The game is set to start at 5:30pm.
