Kyan Miller pitched a complete game shutout to help the Goshen RedHawks improve to 6-8 (3-4 NLC) on the season. Miller and the RedHawks traveled to Nappanee to take on the Northwood Panthers and escaped with a 2-0 victory. Miller allowed only 1 hit on the evening, a single that came in the 6th inning, Northwood’s best chance at a score. He was able to escape with 8 strikeouts and only 3 walks on the evening. The RedHawk offense struggled for the majority of the evening, but was able to push across 2 runs in the 3rd inning when Kaden Witty opened the inning with a single. Braxton Cline was able to hit a triple to score Witty and then scored on a Northwood error when Damian Castillo hit a ball back to the pitcher. This gave the RedHawks the 2-0 lead, and that is all Kyan Miller needed. Goshen recorded only 3 hits on the evening with Witty, Cline, and Payton Bontrager all recording hits. Damian Castillo and Quinn Shreiner Landes each swiped a bag to keep the pressure on the Panthers. The RedHawks are back in action on Tuesday night when they host Bethany Christian at 5:30pm.
