Goshen Bats Heat Up in Victory Over Central Noble

The Goshen baseball team traveled to Central Noble High School on Wednesday night and picked up a victory by the score of 11-2. Sophomore Ryen Diaz picked up his first victory on the young season by pitching 5 innings while giving up just 1 run on 7 hits and 2 strikeouts. Jace Hershberger and Quinn Shreiner Landes pitched the final 2 frames to combine for 1 run on 4 strikeouts. The RedHawk bats teamed up with excellent pitching to seal the victory. The offense saw every RedHawk batter reach base in the game. The RedHawks started the scoring in the 1st inning when Quinn Shreiner Landes singled to bring in Bryson Wilson for the games first run. Central Noble scored in the bottom of the inning to tie the game. After that, the RedHawk bats woke up. The 3rd inning saw 7 Goshen batters come up. Caelan Miller started the inning with a double followed by a bunt single by Bryson Wilson. Braxton Cline was able to drive in Miller to give the RedHawks a 2-1 lead. Kyan Miller drove in the next two runs with a single. He was able to steal 2 bases and then scored on a past ball. The RedHawks finished the inning up 5-1. The offense picked up 2 more runs in the 4th inning and 5th inning. They finished by scoring 1 run in both the 6th and 7th. The offense was led by Caelan Miller and Bryson Wilson who both collected multiple hits and scored multiple runs. Goshen also stole 11 bases in the contest. Goshen continues their season on Saturday when they travel to LaPorte to take on the Slicers at 11am EST.
