The hot RedHawk bats fell silent at home on Saturday morning against Mishawaka Marian. Goshen came into the game scoring over 6 runs in each of their last 7 games in a winning streak that was snapped by a 3-0 shutout. Sophomore pitcher Aaron DeMott pitched a complete game for the RedHawks, but it wasn't enough as he took a difficult loss on the mound. DeMott pitched all 7 innings allowing 3 runs (1 earned) on 7 hits, 4 strikeouts, and 0 walks. Mishawaka Marian scored a run in the top of the 2nd inning to jump out to a 1-0 lead that held until they tacked 2 more runs on in the 4th inning. The RedHawk offense had their best chance to score in the 3rd inning when Brycen Eaton walked with 2 outs, followed by a Spencer Elliott single to bring up Braxton Cline, but Cline flew out on the next pitch to end the threat. Goshen only had 4 base runners on the day with Bryson Wilson, Spencer Elliott, and Braxton Cline hitting singles while Eaton had the lone walk in the pitchers dual. Goshen will look to bounce back at home next week when they host Wawasee on Monday night beginning at 5:30pm.
