Goshen baseball picked up another NLC victory on Friday night by defeating Warsaw by a score of 7-3. Goshen improves their record to 12-4 (8-1 NLC) with the road win. Bryson Wilson pitched 6 innings and picked up the win on the mound allowing just 1 run on 9 hits and 2 strikeouts. Aaron DeMott pitched the 7th inning allowing 2 runs. The RedHawks jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Spencer Elliott scored on a Jaxon Miller double. Bryson Wilson pitched a scoreless bottom of the first to secure the lead. The score remained 1-0 until the top of the 3rd inning. Goshen got a leadoff single from Braxton Cline, he stole 2nd and was advanced to 3rd on a Jensen Meikle groundout. Jaxon Miller then drove in Cline to extend the lead to 2-0. Colton Rapp hit a double to advance Miller to 3rd. Miller scored on the next batter when Bryson Wilson drove in Miller. Manny Pizana then doubled to score Rapp to extend the Goshen lead to 4-0. Warsaw scored a run in the bottom of the 5th inning to cut the lead to 4-1. The lead being cut down didn't last long as Goshen scored more runs in the top of the 6th. With 2 outs Brycen Eaton was hit by a pitch and then Spencer Elliott reached on an error. Both of those were scored on a Braxton Cline double to bring the lead to 6-1. Cline scored on a past ball giving Goshen the 7-1 lead. A 2 run Tiger homerun in the 7th made the score 7-3 before Aaron DeMott closed the game out. Goshen continues their season tomorrow at Westview for a non-conference matchup with the Warriors at 10am.
